Good Governance & Transparancy
Priorities
"Too many people feel that government decisions are happen to them, not with them. To be effective, county government must be transparent, collaborative, accountable, and efficient."

-
Actively engage the public early in decision-making, especially before major land-use or development decisions.

-
Improve public-facing county websites to provide information about development projects.

-
Maintain transparent budgets

-
Create public dashboards to allow public to track budgets, projects, etc.

-
Continue efforts of current BOCC to engage with the community through improved meeting protocols, social media, community newsletters and updates, and specific neighborhood outreach.

-
Create limited duration citizen advisory groups for housing, land use, climate and other significant issues to encourage widespread participation.

-
Plan regionally, but respect and listen to local voices to inform decisions.

-
Regional cooperation and planning helps to minimize displacement.

-
Encourage governments and developers to assess regional impacts of development and work with local communities to lessen or mitigate impacts wherever possible.

-
Implement "BOCC Office Hours" in Norwood, Placerville, and Telluride monthly for direct constituent access.

-
Livestream all BOCC meetings with Spanish interpretation.
