Economic Vitality

Priorities

A strong and stable economy should reflect the people who live and work here rather than relying heavily on outside wealth. We need living wages, reliable jobs, and support for small businesses, agriculture, and trades.

  • Support small businesses and local employers.

  • Conduct a county-wide infrastructure capacity study (water, wastewater, roads, etc.) to identify where housing growth can be accommodated.

  • Continue to invest in critical infrastructure, including roads, transportation systems, water & wastewater treatment, healthcare, education, and broadband infrastructure.

  • Support investments in backup power systems for critical facilities.

  • Promote a strong agricultural economy and support land and water protections.

  • Adopt living-wage standards for county contracts and advocate for living wage standards in the county.

  • Advocate for increased state funding for Highway 145 improvements and public transit expansion.
