My wife, Christine, and I made San Miguel County our home in 2001. After time in Norwood, we settled near Trout Lake, where we raised our five children. All graduated from the Telluride School District and have since built lives across the country and the world.

For nearly two decades, we owned and operated two small retail stores in Telluride. Running a business in a mountain town taught us firsthand how rising costs, scarce workforce housing, and limited access to healthcare place enormous pressure on both employers and employees. Watching long-term workers lose their housing or struggle to afford basics shaped my commitment to creating a community where working people can build stable lives.

In 2016, I joined Tri-County Health Network as Behavioral Health Program Manager, where I focused on strengthening youth mental health and community wellbeing. I helped establish free school-based telehealth services in Telluride and Norwood, built local coalitions to prevent youth substance use, and worked to expand access to mental healthcare for residents across the county.

Two years later, I led the local campaign for the Mental Health Property Tax Assessment, which has now generated more than five million dollars for expanded services and improved access to care—supporting families, schools, and vulnerable neighbors when they need it most.

From 2021 to 2024, I served as Community Relations Liaison for Axis Health System, collaborating with county commissioners across Southwest Colorado and state and federal officials to ensure that our region’s Community Health Center met the needs of rural and underserved residents.

Public service has always been central to my life. I’ve spent nine years on the Telluride School District Board of Education and more than three years on the Telluride Hospital District Board, working to strengthen the institutions that anchor our community.

Across every role—parent, business owner, nonprofit leader, and public servant—I’ve seen how the forces reshaping mountain towns across the West affect our neighbors. We can’t control all of those forces, but we can choose how we respond. My campaign is built on that belief, and on a simple promise: to help build a community to come home to for every resident of San Miguel County.
